I was approached last November by a lovely couple wanting a painted wall mural for their newborn son's nursery. The brief was for a nighttime woodland scene, and they gave me full creative control so it was a joy to incorporate all the characters they were wanting within my own style to a scale with which I hadn't worked with before. Here are the progress pictures and finalised artwork.

Traditional mediums are a step out of my comfort zone and having never worked on anything to this scale I jumped at the chance to take up this brief. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of my work and taking risks which allow me to bring back what i've learnt into the pieces which I regularly work on.
I began with my usual process of roughs and when these were approved and a colour palette settled on I mocked the final rough up in photoshop to give them an idea of how the final piece would look within their space.
I then created the final artwork digitally for my own benefit, this being my usual means of producing illustrations allowed me to confidently approach painting with a copy to hand as reference.
Beginning stages of production.
Final artwork, excuse the inclusion of tape etc; the clients wished to remove these themselves as they had taped the edges before I began working on the painting and had trouble with removing them so wanted to wait till the paint had fully dried.
Thanks!
